The vintage fire engine in the photo above was restored by former driver mechanic Donal O Sullivan which was the appliance in service when he joined the Dunshaughlin Fire Brigade. She's a 1952 Dennis F8. The first purpose built fire appliance for Co. Meath.
The old and the new

This is an Isuzu Trooper 2.5 litre diesel.
It is used for bringing crews in and out to calls and in some cases Firemen can follow on after the main appliance.
It is used for moving equipment around at the scene of a fire and is very useful as a four wheel drive to transport a portable pump off road to a known water source.
The fire jeep
Below is a slide show of the arrival of our new appliance in 2006.
